Some silly thoughts on Trac

Do we need wiki markup in tickets or commit messages? I don’t think so. And sometimes they may bite us. And I don’t think it’s a good idea to tell the users: Go learing our wiki markup or something suprising may happen.

Cross reference is cool. However, making new wiki markup to auto link to external BTS is not very hard.

Yes, maybe sometimes Trac is convinient. You just install one application, and you’ve got a minalistic project manager, or, if you insist, a simplified version of MoinMoin and a simplified version of Bugzilla, Roundup, or whatever.

So, since wiki markup is not useful in tickets, bug reports or commit messages, an extension of Mediawiki or MoinMoin to add new markup which supports auto link to Bugzilla or Roundup sounds as good as, if not better than, Trac.
